My chosen track Jimi Hendrix Crosstown Traffic.
Song Analysis
Meanings and Imagery
Narrative
The songs narrative is that of a guy telling a promiscuous girl that he doesn't want her baggage in his life. He lives a high speed lifestyle that she wants to be a part of. This makes me think it might even be a semi autobiographical song of an event that took place in Jimi's life.
Genre style
The genre is psychedelic 60's rock.
Pace
The Pace is really fast with a clear beat which will be fantastic to cut to.
Length
The track is 2 minutes 26 in length. Although short the idea for a music video I have is that of one tat would be complex enough to achieve the necessary grades.

Tone of exiting videos
The tone of his existing videos are psychedelic with hints of a political undercurrent you can see in Crosstown traffic an urge for economic reform in the poverty of the city. However most of the videos are made post mortem using a mix of life gig footage and new footage not containing Jimi.
locations in existing videos
There is an eclectic mix of locations in Hendrix's "videos" the broad range covers concerts cities, studios, cars.
Concepts and Narratives
I feel the story of this song is that of a man bringing a girl into his life who is a known trouble maker, but only after becoming entangled does he realise shes much worse than he could have ever hoped to cope with.
Pre-Production
Synopsis
The story for my music video is a quirky affair between an Everyman and his obsessed stalker, when he realises she wants to dress him as a banana he attempts to escape with disastrous consequences.
